The Community

Building Foundations for Tomorrow
The Valley Collective (TVC) is a group of like-minded families who have come together to explore a more conscious way of living—one that treads lightly on the planet and works in harmony with nature.
Today, 53 families collectively steward a 100-acre hillside farm, united by a shared concern for the degradation of natural resources and a desire to re-imagine how we live, grow, and consume. When the land was acquired, years of exploitative farming had left it depleted. Since 2017, the community has been regenerating the farm using permaculture and nature-led systems, allowing soil fertility and biodiversity to return—naturally, season by season.
Shared Stewardship
We reduce waste and dependency by reusing resources and designing closed-loop systems inspired by nature.
Inclusive Community
We grow together through shared learning and collaboration, ensuring every participant has a voice and place.
Sustainable Growth
We design food systems and livelihoods that remain resilient, productive, and viable across generations.
Environmental Health
We restore soil, water, air, and biodiversity by aligning farming practices with the rhythms of natural ecosystems.

Agroecological Design
Designing the farm as a living ecosystem—where plants, soil, water, insects, and animals support one another.

Water Conservation
Reducing water use through rainwater harvesting and efficient irrigation methods suited to the landscape.

Integrated Pest Management
Managing pests through natural predators and ecological balance instead of chemical interventions.

Crop Rotation
Growing different crops in sequence to naturally replenish soil nutrients and improve long-term soil health.
Our Common Practices
At TVC, farming is guided by respect for natural systems. Our practices regenerate soil, conserve water, and strengthen ecosystems by working with nature’s cycles.

Over the years, we’ve watched the land come alive again—birds returning, butterflies settling in, and children learning to notice what was once invisible. The change isn’t just in the soil; it’s in how we relate to the land.
